IT'S NOT EASY BEING GREEN

BUT I AM CONSTANTLY WORKING TOWARDS BEING A RESPONSIBLE GLOBAL CITIZEN AND MICRO BUSINESS

As an independent artist, I believe creativity should tread lightly on the planet.

Here’s how I’m making that happen:

Eco-Friendly Equipment & Packaging

  • Equipment: All old technology is recycled & replacements are not only made at double the average depreciation period. They are also energy-efficient and proportionately made of recycled components.

  • Packing and packaging: I have changed all of the plastic-based packaging for carbon-neutral, recyclable and compostable sturdy brown paper. Even my sticker packs are made with upcycled cardstock. The remaining plastic packaging is also recyclable, as well as being archival and reusable. I avoid unnecessary extras - no glossy inserts, no wasteful wrapping.

 Low-Impact Website Design

  • Website: This website is hosted by carbon carbon-neutral company on a carbon-neutral server. Even the website design is made to not only be friendly to dyslexic and photosensitive users, but it is also designed to have a minimal drain on your electronic devices.  I have also kept the design intentionally minimal and fast-loading to reduce energy use. No autoplay videos, no bloated code - just clean, conscious design.

Sustainable Art Supplies

  • Art Supplies: All paper and card stock are bought locally in the UK and come from sustainable resources. All polychromos and pencils are composted, and pens/nibs/lids are currently in storage for upcycling* or recycling.

 Travel & Carbon Footprint

  • Travel: Either by foot, bike, rail, or other public transport to minimise my carbon footprint.  I avoid unnecessary travel and offset emissions where possible.

Even as a sole trader, I am making both economical, ecological, and environmentally friendly adaptations to my business. This, as well as other aspects of my business, are always evolving and changing to make sure I'm trading consciously, neutrally, ethically, and responsibly.
Sustainability is a journey, not a destination. I’m constantly learning, adapting, and seeking new ways to reduce my impact. If you have ideas, resources, or want to collaborate on eco-conscious projects, I’d love to hear from you.

Let’s Create Responsibly

Art can be beautiful and ethical. Thank you for supporting a creative practice that puts the planet first.

*While you're here!
*I am still researching options and possibilities of how to recycle the pens that I use so that they do not end up in a landfill (they're just in a large tub in my office at the moment – if anybody would need these for an upcycling project, they are more than welcome to them!)
