Sebastain (Seb) Bailey is the newest and youngest member of the HEVIX Team. Working as a solo DJ and producer as well as studying music and contributing to the HEVIX Project for 2014, this Keynsham born Bristolian is one of the most enthusiastic and lively members of Bristol's bass music network.
Still only 16 years of age, Seb got into bass music from around the age of 10. A keen BMXer much of his youth was spent at Motion Ramp Park- Bristol, riding and listening to the recorded sets from the club and coincidentally spurring on his love of Drum N Bass.
Influenced by the likes of master of the decks CRISSY CRISS and producers like MAJISTRATE, GUV, ORIGIN, HYBRID MINDS, NETSKY and WILKINSON, combining a wide and modern style of elements, to help his knowledge, understanding and variety of the scene expand.
Within those two years Seb started to master his first set of vinyl decks and by the age of 14 he was completely competent on both vinyl and CDJ's. By almost 15 years old (bar a few days) Seb was back at Motion, but this time behind the decks and this is where his explosion onto the scene started.
Bookings have made a steady progression, playing for the likes of UNITED SOUNDS and more UK parties. This last year has seen Seb concentrate on producing, which is turning out well as he already has forthcoming releases in the pipe-line through HEVIX RECORDINGS and has a growing amount of interest and support from many DJ's, producers, MC's and events all wanting to get involved with the CHANGING WAYS projects! CHANGING WAYS & FRIENDS DROPPED into the BBC1XTRA studio
(home of the LIVE LOUNGE)hear more from Seb and the crew here!:
"So yesterday (Saturday 22nd February 2014) DJ Dotty (South West Squad and F8ality Sounds), Jay Unearthed (Hevix Recordings, Team Hevix and Unearthed Promos), DJ Pigeon (Hevix Recordings, Team Hevix and Unearthed Promos), MC Fader and myself took a little road trip the the good old BBC. This trip was as part of BBC Radio 1's and 1Xtra's Access All Areas month and our part of it was the chance to record a one hour podcast of well what ever the hell we want. In this we showcase tracks from up and coming artists across the South West of England and also a little something from some Scottish Hip-Hop heads, and it doesn't stop there. Out of the blue the BBC managed to call in the one and only Friction into the studio to do a little off-the-cuff interview with us and and also have a good laugh at the same time!"
